Mr Sabol’s second period should report to the auditorium.

The Library will be closed on Tuesday April 27th from 1-2:30 pm. Please do not send any students to the Library during this time.

Juniors: The shadowing forms are now overdue. Any student who does not hand in a shadowing form by Tuesday will not be excused to shadow on May 10.

Any senior who is a candidate for the Fred Smith Trade Scholarship needs to have the applications to Mrs. Chittalia by Friday April 30. If you have questions concerning this scholarship please see Mrs. Chittalia NOW!!

Anyone going to the Prom your deposits are due NOW. Final payments by April 28th.

Student Council will be sponsoring its second annual blood drive on May 11, 2010. Any student who is 16 and older and weighs at least 106 lbs is eligible to become a donor. Please sign up at the Devil Doings Board. As soon as permission forms become available, student council members will pass them on.

STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS WILL BE PROMOTING “PENNIES FOR PATIENTS” WHICH GOES TOWARDS THE LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY. EACH TEACHER WILL RECEIVE A PENNIES FOR PATIENTS BOX. PLEASE DONATE ANY SPARE CHANGE THAT YOU MAY HAVE. EACH THURSDAY, STUDENT COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES WILL COLLECT THE BOX AND RECORD THE AMOUNT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX. THE ADVISORY CLASS THAT HAS THE MOST MONEY COLLECTED WILL RECEIVE AN ICE CREAM SUNDAE PARTY COURTESY OF STUDENT COUNCIL. COLLECTIONS WILL BE TAKEN UNTIL THURSDAY, APRIL 29.

Yearbook meetings this week will be Monday and Tuesday (April 19 & 20) after school.

The National Honor Society is selling hoagies from Lucky’s Deli. Please see any member of the honor society if you would like to buy one. Honor Society students are reminded that the hoagie sale will continue until April 30th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Ashford or Mrs. Tite.

Drama practice is from 3-5 and from 6pm until you are dismissed. This will be the schedule until opening night.

Rainbow Scholarship is offering 3 scholarship awards in June:
The Rainbow Award, The Queer Students of the Year and the Diversity Essay Contest. For more information and an application go to http://www.prideglv.org deadline is Monday June 1, 2010.

Scholarship applications for the Smith Trade School Scholarship are due in the guidance office ASAP. If you are attending a trade/2 year school and live in Shenandoah Borough please see Mrs. Chittalia for an application ASAP.

Scholarship applications for the Smith Scholarship at Bloomsburg University are due. If you live in Shenandoah Borough and have a letter of acceptance from Bloomsburg University please see Mrs. Chittalia ASAP.

Applications for the Pfluger-Przybylik Family Scholarship are available and due in the guidance office by April 14. Please stop in the guidance office for an application.

The Prizm Prom, sponsored by the HAVEN Group will be held Saturday, May 1 at the UUCLV in Bethlehem and is open to all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender; questioning and allied youth ages 14-20. Any student in violation of the school dress code is to be sent to the principal’s office immediately. Students are to abide by all rules of the dress code policy.

Donations are being accepted for the local SPCA. Please bring all donations to Mrs. Carter’s Room.

If any student needs community service, please see Mrs. Tite as soon as possible.

Anyone attending the Prom Saturday May 8th, must sign up in the Library as soon as possible.  A count is needed so it is important that you sign up immediately to be included.

Marching Band practice for Saturday’s Girardville Parade will take place at the end of the High School Day, 2:50pm, today.  Make arrangements now to attend.  It is our only practice.

This is the last call for students to claim missing items that have been handed in to the office.  There are Nike bags, sneakers and hoodies.  A pair of girl’s denim shorts were found this morning in the locker room and brought to the office.  If these items are not claimed today, they will be disposed of tomorrow

Mrs. Carter’s classes will report to the auditorium today and tomorrow.  The downstairs computer lab is closed today and tomorrow.

Mrs. Tite’s 3rd period today and tomorrow should report to the auditorium.

Ms. Murray’s Advisory class will report to the gym today.

During advisory today, there will be a Drama meeting for CAST ONLY in the auditorium. Teachers, only allow students in the e-mail to attend the meeting. NO CREW OR PAINTERS. THE FOLLOWING CREW MEMBERS MUST ATTEND: AMBER BORIS, DANNY MERVA, AND JIMMY DAVIDSON

Midget Football and Cheerleader sign ups will be held tonight and tomorrow from 6-8pm at Glovers Hill.  Registration is open to student’s grade 1st thru 8th.  New Football players must bring a copy of birth certification at time of registration.

Silk Squad, Rifle and Honor Guard Candidates: practice this week after school today and tomorrow.  If you are marching in Virginia, you should be present today.

 

The Junior class is now selling Gertrude Hawk candy for the Easter holiday.  If anyone is interested in placing an order, please see a junior class member.   All orders and money must be turned in to Ms. Major by Friday, March 12th.

Teachers are reminded that all Progress Reports are to be entered today.  All reports must be entered by the end of the day today Progress Reports will be mailed to parents/guardians on Friday March 12th.

THE SHENANDOAH QUARTERBACK CLUB IS SELLING BEACH TOWELS WITH EITHER THE BLUE DEVIL WEIGHTLIFTING LOGO OR THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY BLUE DEVIL FOOTBALL LOGO ON THEM.  THE COST IS $15.  THEY ARE ALSO SELLING BLANKETS WITH SHENANDOAH VALLEY BLUE DEVIL FOOTBALL ON THEM THE COST IS $25.  TO PURCHASE PLEASE SEE ANY FOOTBALL PLAYER OR A SHEET WILL BE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL OFFICE.  ORDERS ALONG WITH MONEY ARE DUE BY FRIDAY MARCH 12.

Pennsylvania State Police Youth Week will be held June 13-19. This is a 6 day camp used to introduce students in all procedures of law enforcement. Any female or male student that is physically fit and completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade is eligible. The fee is $125.00.
